Meet Vicky, the Maker Behind Maple Rose Leather.
Hi, I’m Vicky and I’ve been living in Canada for the last 25 years, and yes, you can detect a hint of an accent. I’m originally from Leeds, England.
The British side of me really gets sarcasm but having children weaned me off that because they weren’t having as much fun with it as I was. The Canadian side of me apologizes to furniture when I bump into it, which is surprisingly often. So, if I’m this nice to furniture you can imagine how nice I am in person.
I have 3 amazing daughters that I can thank for this amazing journey of becoming a leather maker because if they’d have remained little and just neeeeeed me I wouldn’t have had to find something else to keep me entertained and feeling purposeful.
Watching and helping my girls work toward inspiring lives of their own gave me a kick in the bum to go after my own inspiring future, now that they refuse to allow me into their rooms to chat with them and their friends anymore (they used to find me hilarious…honest).
And that is why I started making planners and notebook covers. I discovered that purposeful planning and a clear direction took me from coasting through life, living the same year over and over, into this exciting way of living.
And I wanted to share, so I started making planners for other people, encouraging them to put themselves back on their own priority list and consider a more purposeful future of their dreaming. Why not you? Why not now?
And then I fell in love with leather making so I started making other products. And I will never stop. I want my customers to enjoy that amazing tactile experience that leather gives and just maybe consider an amazing future of their own.

Each Maple Rose Leather product is as unique as you are and that is by design. Our Signature Travellers Notebooks are carefully crafted for flexibility, strength and the hides are chosen based on their characteristics, making each one slightly different.
Our bags are designed based on function and their great looks – they are the ideal size for everyday and travel.
We also make our bracelets, luggage tags, bookmarks and odds n’ ends with offcuts reducing the amount of waste produced. These make great gifts for the hard to buy for person at any time of year!
We also offer custom work. Whether it’s your initials on a pouch, passport holder or notebook, or a custom name tag for a stocking, we are happy to customize and create unique products for your needs.
